Happy Hump day everyone!
I recently received these Sweet Rolls to review. Sweet Roll is a new styling brand on the horizon. I’m not much of a hot roller styling girl. I just don’t like that “pageant” hairstyle look. I prefer to use the iron barrel to curl my hair because I like to create the beachy waves look. The problem is that it takes time to curl those stubborn Asian hair with a barrel curling iron. Since Sweet Roll’s filler is made with organic material and it conditions while it sets your hair, I thought I should just give it a try. I like the fact that it was quick and easy to style my hair. However, I was not a big fan of using a microwave to heat up the rollers and then run over to my mirror in the bathroom so that I can roll my hair up properly.
Here’s my rundown of how to use them, showing you the results along the way.
I put each sweet roll in the microwave for 30 seconds as instructed. Make sure your microwave is clean or your hair will smell like pizza afterward! The downside is that you (well maybe just me) need to be near a mirror when you roll up your hair. For my stubborn Asian straight hair, I used a total of 5 rolls; 3 small (for tight curls) and 2 large sweet rolls (for large and loose curls).
I left the rollers in for 10 minutes. During this downtime, I hung out with the boys.
10 minutes later, I took the rollers out. My hair felt softer, fuller and thicker. Some might say it got that “pageant” look. It took another 15 minutes for my hair to relax and look like this.
3 hours later, my hair stayed curly still. It’s got that beachy wave look, no?

Did you use hair spray or other styling products? Your hair looks great! I love to curl my hair, but it always feels so dry afterwards, conditioning rollers would be great.
Hi Emily. No, I did not use any products at all. I used the Elnett hairspray (very very little amount) after to let the curls stay in their shape.
