Happy Hump day everyone!

It’s been almost a year since our last visit to Bonnie Springs Ranch.    This is one of our favorite places to visit and we try to come here at least once a year.  Bonnie Springs Ranch is a perfect day trip place where you don’t have to spend a lot of money to visit a historic area and get to enjoy what is left over from the Old Spanish Trail.  There’s a petting zoo, a train ride, and horse riding.  It also has shoot-’em-up stunt shows, stage melodramas, and an Old West town that you can wander through for souvenir shopping.  If you work up an appetite during your visit there is a restaurant  (with views of ducks and turtles swimming in the pond) that serves up snacks and food.  Aside from that there’s also a bar that you can order beers and other beverages.  The best part is that it is only 30 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip!  How awesome is that?  You can visit the ranch during the day and head over to the Strip for fun at night!

During this visit the boys got to explore and feed the animals on their own.  Whereas, ten months ago all they wanted to do was to ride the train.  Prior to that (when they just turned one) they didn’t want their feet to touch the ground.  Dante immediately went to the little animal (I forget what it was called) that he visited when he was only one year old.  There was a sense of familiarity, contentment, happiness and sincerity look on his face.  It’s priceless.
