We begin with fashion. Fashion for me is a form of both expression and transformation. I express myself through fashion, and seek a certain level of respect amongst the gorgeous women of DC. I love to put my special clothing pieces together and inspire you. I often use it as a tool to transform from one role to another. From professional, to mom, to city outings, I strive to feel my best at all times (even after those long nights tending to baby.)
cowl neck
I begin with the perfect accessory item: the Scarf. This item is THE item. It adds pop to any outfit. From lazy weekend jeans, to classy fitted suits, the scarf adds that perfect amount of flavor.
In the summer, a silk scarf serves as a friend during convertible, top-down rides around town. It also protects your hair’s color and highlights from harsh rays while basking in the sun at the pool.
During chillier months, it’s a form of protection. Traditional Chinese Medicine actually names an illness the “Wind Cold,” where wind creates disharmony within the body and manifests itself as a cold. A favorite of mine is the cowl neck scarf. You can pick one up almost anywhere these days. It fits perfectly around the neck, keeps you warm, and you can even place part of it on your head to cover your hair from rain and snow!
Another type of scarf I love is the traditional classic Pashmina. Many ethnic women wear this piece draped across their bodies. It oozes class and stature, and can be found at almost any shopping mall. Tip: there’s not any one way to wear the Pashmina. Search online to find new, creative ways to show off this treasured item.
mongram
Last, but not least, is the statement scarf. It’s that designer monogrammed shawl, that animal print stole, and the pop, bright-colored square. Any of these allows you to express your mood, and bring your outfit to the next level. Happy accessorizing and I look forward to seeing you on my blog!
