Happy Monday, everyone! Hope your July 4th weekend was treating you well.
I’m a sucker for a timeless dress, and the shirtdress is one of my all-time favorites. I love this one from Forever 21. It has a mandarin collar and the material is made from cotton and linen. And with a price tag of of $27.90 it’s worth the investment even if it would only last for a few months because this garment will be in heavy rotation from work to dinner to the playground.
Unlike other Forever 21 items I didn’t have to do much tailoring. The only tweak I did was removing the interior button tabs that held the rolled-up sleeves in place so the shirtdress didn’t look too contrived.
To look chic and stylish, I mixed the shirtdress with a statement necklace, a vintage leather tote, and a pair of flat loafers from M.Gemi (they run small so order 1/2 a size up). If I want to achieve the professional look, I can replace the statement necklace with a dainty one, add a structure bag and finish the look with a pair of neutral pumps. Given the versatility of this shirtdress, it is undoubtedly one of my favorite summer outfits. After all, I’m a suck for a timeless dress where I can look polished while staying cool.

Adorable! I love this look. I can’t believe I’ve never owned a shirtdress. You make it look fabulous. And how can you beat that price. I love finding pieces at Forever21 that can look so chic.
