Gabrielle Jacket – c/o Boston Proper//Zara bustier (old)//Old Navy Rockstar Skinny//Casadei Pumps (old, similar style) //Chloe Drew//Vintage Pearls (love these)
If you have been following me then you know I have a career outside of blogging. Although I work remotely from home I do travel frequently for team meetings and conferences. In those situations, I always do my best to dress professionally. Whenever I’m appropriately dressed I feel fearless, poised and most importantly, confident.
I invest in office basics like slacks, pencil skirts, button downs, blazers and jackets that I can go back to time and time again. When Boston Proper, a brand known to offer chic and sophisticated women’s apparel and accessories, contacted me to review one of their most popular office to cocktail items I was beyond excited.
They chose the “Gabrielle Jacket” for me to work into an upcoming story. Frankly, I didn’t need a story to include this jacket to share on the blog because it’s so versatile. Although I already have a similar tweed jacket, it’s a bit boxy and not as versatile. Sadly, it’s been sitting in my closet for the past 5 years and I don’t believe it’s been featured on the blog. This jacket however, is slimmer and longer which can cover my bloated tummy when needed. The best part is it sits perfectly below my hips to give a subtle hourglass silhouette. The collarless shape allows room for jewelry or a scarf to add some personality. I love how versatile this jacket is because I can wear it to work for my meetings and out for cocktail or date night with hubby after.
On today’s post I’m sharing how easy and seamless it is to transition this jacket from work to play within minutes. For a conservative look at work, pair the jacket with heels, skinny pants and some jewelry. This look projects femininity and power while looking chic and fearless. If you want an edgy look for cocktail but still possess the poise and confidence, pair with a bustier (you can actually wear this underneath the jacket all day long and no one will know) and layer necklaces for the finishing touches. Now I’m heading back to Boston Proper for another look at this shirtdress, this parisian jacket and this fringe sweater dress!
