Welcome to the Get to Know series where each week I introduce a new blogger behind him/her blog with Q&A’s – with personal revealing results. Check back on Wednesdays for your weekly peek behind the blog left slightly ajar.  This week I’m featuring Melissa Jeffcott from The Other Side of Forty, who loves to write about living your best life on the other side of forty!

Blog Name:  The Other Side of Forty
Your Name: Melissa Jeffcott
Years of blogging: 1

What is your blog about?
I am an Australian mum of 3 and life coach for women on the other side of forty, that are looking to reconnect with their passion, purpose, and joy for life. I write about living your best life on the other side of forty with plenty of heart and a little bit of humour.

How often do you blog?
Usually once a week

Best compliment you have received?
I often get complimented that I don’t look my age (but trust me, I certainly do when I first wake up!)

If you could be any age for a week, what age would that be and why?
I am actually happy with the age that I am (44). I am finding my forties a great place to be. I feel like my kids are a bit older and don’t need as much of me, and I am able to put more focus on the things that bring me joy in life. I also don’t worry about what other people think of me anymore, and boy is that liberating!

If you could spend the day with any celebrity, who would it be?
Well, anyone who reads my blog would know that I have an ongoing interest in Ryan Gosling, but as my husband probably wouldn’t approve of what I would want to do with him (lol), I will say Meryl Streep: I would love to hang out and have a wine and chat with her, she is amazing.

If you could retire tomorrow, what would you do?
Pretty much what I am doing now, I am very happy to say! I love being a life coach, and helping women reconnect with themselves and seeing them realise that they are worth investing in. Maybe I would Skype my clients from a tropical beach rather than my office though!

Your dream vacation? Worst vacation? Best vacation?
Dream vacation: An overwater bungalow in the Maldives with my husband (or Ryan Gosling, I’m not fussy!)
Worst vacation: A sailing holiday where the rain and storms were relentless, not fun and I was constantly sick. Best vacation: My husband and I took our 3 kids to France and Italy a couple of years ago. It was an amazing experience, albeit exhausting travelling with 3 young children. I have some wonderful memories that I will always cherish (although when I asked my 6 year old what her favourite memory was, she said going to all the playgrounds: I could have saved my money there!)
