In my never-ending quest for better quality clothing at lower prices, it’s important for me to understand what type of fabrics clothing is made of that can last for years to come, not just for weeks. To me, cashmere, wool, prima cotton, and silk fabrics have the highest quality.
If I were to take an inventory of my closet, my clothing would consist of 30% silk, 25% cashmere, 25% wool, 15% prima cotton, and 5% polyester + viscose.
I love wearing silk because nothing beats the lavish feel of silk on the skin – seriously! The only drawback of wearing silk is that it tends to cling to your skin, especially in the wintertime because of static. Yes, there are ways to get rid of it but it’s such a hassle.
I recently learned about these silk shirts made by The Fable. They are not made with the typical silk material that you would find on a silk shirt. The texture is not as silky but it feels silky. It hardly wrinkles. It’s hand washable. The best part is that it does not cling to your skin like other silk shirts or dresses do.
The Fable is founded by Sophie Doyle who quits her corporate job at L’OreaL Luxury to embark on a self-discovery journey in India. Through that journey she decided to start a company to create a silk shirt that is easy to wear, doesn’t compromise in quality, low maintenance, and affordable. On top of that, she made sure the shirts are ethically made. Then in October 2015, The Fable was born.
As a businesswoman myself I love hearing stories like Sophie who is inspirational and aspirational.
If you are looking for that perfect silk shirt, you have to check out The Fable because you won’t be disappointed. You can also enter for a chance to win any silk shirt from The Fable below…You know the drill 🙂
