Disclosure: I was asked by Carusele to participate in the #SimplyNice campaign, sponsored by Walgreens. Although I have been compensated, all opinions are my own.

gratitude

Since early December, I found myself filled with an abundance of gratitude in a manner I did not expect. We dodged the #LAFIRES and didn’t have to evacuate.  While prepping for the anticipation of an evacuation I tripped and fell flat on a cement floor with minor cuts and bruises.  A mild concussion followed.  Then, a couple days later I was rushed to urgent care for severe dizziness and vomiting.

No doubt at the time I felt terrified, immobilized, and disabled.

I gave thanks for more than I ever imagined I would have experienced: we still have a roof over our head while over 150,000 unfortunate people were forced out of their homes during the fires, didn’t break any bones from my fall, and the severe dizziness was diagnosed as vertigo.

One can argue that I left 2017 with a bang.

With the arrival of 2018, as the worrying now nearly gone, I am savoring all the friends and family time I have spent and will continue to attain more of.  I will also add a couple more days of yoga practice in addition to continue to eating well.

If you are following me then you know that we are a family committed to eating well and making good food choices.  But occasionally we love to indulge, well who doesn’t?

gratitude

We love to snack while watching a movie or a tv show.  Or, snack while having a quiet moment with hubby during our afternoon tea rituals.  I feel good knowing that my family indulges in Nice! products that are made with the best possible ingredients.  Plus the upfront, labeling and the shopping convenience of Walgreens make Nice! a win.

My twins are already a big fan of Nice!® Sea Salt Almonds and they couldn’t get enough of Nice!® Sea Salt Popcorn.  They’ve gone through at least 3 bags before the photoshoot.  Both hubby and I love to indulge our afternoon tea with the Nice!® Maple Leaf Cream cookies.  I guess the maple flavor reminded him of his hometown in Canada.

Two thousand eighteen has arrived and with it a beautiful opportunity to indulge a little with Nice!®.  The first couple weeks of January has indeed been full and exhilarating, but without question, I am ready for 2018 to exercise more, continue to eat healthily, spend more time with friends and family, and being ready to take on any of life’s challenges….but nicely.

Yes, we have so many things to be grateful for and we feel so blessed! You have to check out their Nice! products on your next Walgreens visit. In addition to snacking then at home we always pack them with us for our travels.

  2. It is a relief to know you have recovered well from the fall.
Yes it is good to indulge in food. I wll check this out.

  3. I am so sorry about your fall! How horrible! But sooo glad you did not have to leave your home and evacuate. I had vertigo a few years ago, and I was taught to do the Epley Manuever by my ENT doctor– it was honestly a life saver! I have gotten vertigo a couple times over the past few years, and I always go right back to Youtube to look up the Epley manuever again!! Also, those cookies look amazing!

Thank you, Mary. I’ve been doing the Eply Maneuver too. It’s been over a month and I finally feel like I’m 93% recovered. Unfortunately, mine was quite severe so it took a lot longer to recover than most people. It is something that I have to manage if it happens again 😞

  4. Gosh you had such a time leaving 2017 but hopefully 2018 calms down for you! Your fall sounds horrible but very happy to hear that you and your family came out unharmed from the fires. Your sons are super cute by the way!!

Do you know which of the products that you’ve advertised are vegan? They look yummy! 💚

Thank you! We ate all the snacks and threw away the packaging but I vaguely remember that the mango slices were vegan friendly. Their packages are well labeled so it should be an easy find based on your needs. Hope this helps.

  5. I’m so sorry to hear about some of your health troubles at the end of last year. But, I’m so happy you’re feeling better! I’m a big lover of popcorn for a snack, so this is definitely right up my alley. Lovely photos!
