One of my favorite styles that I never get tired of wearing in winter is faux fur, my must-have item to brave the cold. I saw a vintage fur coat at a flea market a few years ago and fell in love with it. It was warm, cozy, and surprisingly affordable but I declined to buy it.
As we all know fur coats have a controversial history, as they should. Most of us feel wearing real fur coats are cruel and unfair and a danger to innocent animals. That’s why I love to wear faux fur without the overwhelming sense of guilt.
The faux fur trend has never left the fashion sphere and it became a winter wardrobe staple for most fashionistas. This trend is super chic and there are easy ways to pull this off even when it’s brutally cold.
But how do we pull off such an opulent, extravagance, glamour item without looking too over the top? I have worn faux fur with velvet, a bohemian dress, and other styles like with an LBD for an evening event. One of my favorite looks that I can easily throw on when walking out the door is a faux fur coat over an all-black ensemble.
The key is to keep everything else simple.
