Happy Tuesday everyone!

It is very well known that Vitamin C plays an important role in maintaining healthy body and resilient skin.  As you age your skin naturally loses vitamin C over time.  With other factors like exposure to UV light, pollutants and cigarette smoke, they contribute the decline of vitamin C which speed up the signs of aging. The nutrients from vitamin C helps to combat and possibly reverse aging on your face.

I take vitamin C orally on a daily basis but have never tried applying it topically, which is supposedly more effective.  I stopped by CVS a couple weeks ago and spotted Lumene Vitamin C+ With Artic Cloudberry on sale at 50% off!  I’ve seen this product on the shelf at CVS on many visits but thought it was just too pricey ($22 for 28 capsules) to try.  So with a $5 rebate credit plus 50% off I was able to purchase this bottle for $6 plus tax…not so bad.  Here’s my take on this product after using it for two weeks.

lumene-1

The Claim:

Brightens and protects your skin from the signs of aging.  The combination of vitamin C and wild Arctic cloudberry gives you silky soft and radiant skin.

Mama’s Take:

I use this product at night with my face cream.  The product applies really well.  The amount from the pods is very generous.  I have extremely sensitive skin and it does not sting, irritate or dry out my skin after each application.  I love how the way it feels on my skin, smooth and silky the next morning.  I have not seen dramatic improvements on my skin yet because I haven’t been using it long enough to tell.  However, my skin feels more supple and smooth.  I have dark/age spots on my cheekbones and was hoping to see that lightened a bit.  I will keep using this for the next 4 weeks and monitor the results.  I will definitely let you know!

  1. I recently started using a vitamin C serum and I swear I can see a difference — and I can definitely feel a difference. I did a little research and, you may already know this, you’re supposed to let it soak into your skin for a few minutes before moisturizing after. Apparently it takes a moment for it to get absorbed and you can lessen the effects by moisturizing immediately after you apply it.

    • That’s something new! I knew topical application of vitamin E, which I tried in the past. The price you paid for is amazing. I shall try and definitely will share my progress.
      Thanks for both of you!
