Retinol…I read about it and I have used it once (non-prescription) right before I found out I was pregnant.  That was over 4 years ago.  I can’t recall the brand but the strength was only .5.  Given my hyper sensitive aging skin my face was on fire after using it for a week.  My face was red, dry and peeled everywhere.  It took almost 3 weeks for my skin to recover.  By then I was pregnant 🙂 and stopped using it altogether.

I have yet to touch another retinol cream until now because I’ve been scared.   When OZ Naturals contacted me again to review their Retinol serum I was a bit hesitant.  I love their vitamin C serums and since my last review  I actually stopped making my own because their vitamin C serums are not only affordable but also effective.  But after reading the OZ Natural Retinol serum ingredients list I decided to take a risk on my skin and see what this product can do.  Good or bad I would share regardless!  Here’s my take on it.

The Goods:

OZ Naturals Retinol

retinal-1-2

The Claim:

Minimizes hyperpigmentation, fine lines, wrinkles and greatly improve texture and tone.

Includes Astaxanthin and Vitamin E that provide antioxidant properties and activate collagen and elastin production.

Rejuvenate your skin via a synergistic and unique blend of active ingredients that will leave your skin healthier and appear more radiant and youthful looking.

Mama’s Take:

I’ve been using this serum every single night for the past 3 weeks and I couldn’t be more pleased.  The serum is grapefruit pink color but feels silky and leaves my face feeling moist.  I apply the serum nightly after cleaning my face, followed by Skin Authority Night Revitalizer.  During the day, I apply OZ Naturals vitamin C serum and 30 minutes followed by Skin Authority Age Defying Moisturizer.  Here’s how my forehead looks before and after (can you tell I’m fixated in diminishing my forehead lines?).  The pictures were taken with an iPhone and I had no makeup on.  You can see the lines are still there but not as visible as before:

Retinol before and after

I don’t know if it’s the combination of all these products that I’ve been using or just the retinol serum but my wrinkles and fine lines have definitely been minimized.  My skin feels smoother and looks brighter.  For all those 3 weeks my skin did not experience any peeling, redness or flakiness.  That’s a plus in my book!  I have half a bottle left and I know I will re-stock this item from Amazon.  It’s only $24.99 you guys so it’s not only a fabulous deal but also made with organic ingredients!

Disclosure:  Although I was given products to review from OZ Naturals, all opinions are my own

  1. Amazing! I use Retin A, and definitely get that horrid dryness. I’ll have to take a look at this, since you haven’t experienced any irritation (and it obviously works)!

I didn’t know what to expect. I didn’t expect to see results so soon. I thought it would take 10+ more weeks or so.
