I’ve been slacking off. I have not done any yoga or any form of exercise for the past few months…and I felt it. As we all know, exercising, whether that be walking, running or jumping is essential to our health.

As part of this Healthy Living Habits monthly series I thought I would share what I have been doing in lieu of yoga to stay as healthy as I can. This is probably one of my favorite exercises because it does not require me to be in an exercise uniform. But the best part is that it only takes 5 minutes a day.

So, I have been planking.

Yes, every other night before going to bed and every other morning when I wake up, I plank for 5 minutes. All you need to do is suck your tummy, relax your shoulders and just stay in a plank position. That’s it!

Although it doesn’t give me a complete workout on my system but it does work on my core, which is one of the important areas in our body to stay in shape.

I’ve been doing this for the past couple weeks and it has evolved into a habit.

So if you want to embrace your natural girdle like I have been, why not plank this weekend.
