Welcome to the monthly series, In Her SHOES.  Each month the series will focus on anything shoe related from trends to reviews regardless of price.  This month I’m delighted to share a pair of classic Mary Jane pump in dusty pink with delicate buckled straps and brushed gold hardware.  Meet…

Marion Parke Dusty Pink Leather Mitchell Pump

Price: $650

Made in Italy.

3.25″ tall.

Ah…the Mary Jane pump – such classic.  I have been eyeing this particular pair for a very very long time.  Yes, the price is quite steep and it was really really hard to justify in getting them at a premium price.  When it was on sale a few weeks ago I couldn’t help myself.  Read on to see whether it was a good buy or not.  Her shoes run small so order half a size up.   As mentioned previously when shopping for shoes there are three tricks that I always use whenever I try on shoes to make sure they are comfortable and fit right.

Read on to see whether it was a good buy or not.  Her shoes run small so order half a size up.   As mentioned previously when shopping for shoes there are three tricks that I always use whenever I try on shoes to make sure they are comfortable and fit right.

The Late Afternoon Trick

In case you’re not aware, our feet do change as the day goes on.  They tend to swell a tad, typically in the late afternoon.  That’s the best time to try on any shoe.  You want to make sure they fit right.

The Test: Hands down…one of the most comfortable pair of shoes I have ever tried on.  Thank goodness that I ordered half a size up.  Otherwise, they would have been too small for my feet!  They are so comfortable and feel so luxurious.  Apparently, they have a patent-pending contoured insole designed to reposition and support the foot, which explains the comfort.

The One-Inch Trick

This typically applies to stilettos 4″ or higher.  It is recommended that you should have about an inch between the insole and your heel when you lift your heel up.  If you can’t then that means they’re probably too high and you won’t be comfortable.

The Test: I had to unbuckle the straps to test this.  I was able to lift up my heel easily.

The Thumb Trick

I do this all the time, especially when trying on pumps.  Make sure the space between your big toe and the top of the shoe has about a thumb’s amount of space.  You want enough wiggle room so that friction in that area is not created.

The Test: There is space of a thumb size between my big toe and the top of the shoe.  Again, these pumps are very very comfortable.

Pros:

They are very very comfortable – great for the office or any venues.  I love the neutral dusty pink color because you can pretty much pair with anything.  The pumps are well made and they look very luxurious.

Cons:

Well, the price of course.  For $650 I would wait for them to be on sale.

Opinion:

I love these pumps.  I just received them and have already started wearing them from work to play.  If you can’t wait for them to be on sale then I would highly recommend to get them now.  I’m eyeing the black color pair 🙂

Styling Tips

These pumps are versatile.  They look great from pairing with ripped denim to flowy dresses.

I hope you are enjoying this new series as much as I have.  I can’t wait to share my next pair with you in August!
